Gerald F. DuFour
								Gerald F. “Jerry” DuFour, 88, of Beech Creek passed away Monday, August 21, 2017 at his home.
Born on May 1, 1929 in Grampian, he was the son of the late Alex and Ruth Frederick DuFour.
Jerry served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He was a heavy equipment operator, having used his skills in various areas including the coal mine, roadwork, and pipeline industries until his retirement from the Operating Engineers Local 542 in 1989.
On May 1, 1989, he married his wife, Elizabeth Jane “Libby” Entz DuFour, who survives.
Jerry was of the Methodist faith.
He was a member of both the Lafayette Lodge 199 Free and Accepted Masons, Lock Haven, and the American Legion Post 623, Beech Creek.
Jerry enjoyed pitching horseshoes and shooting pool with many of the Beech Creek leagues.
He was a skilled woodworker, having built various items ranging from tables and chairs to a replica of the Laurel Run United Methodist Church in which he included many meticulous details.
Jerry was willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are his three children, Gerald “Jerry” DuFour, Jr. of Etters, Glenn (Donna) DuFour of Woolrich, and Connie (Charles) McGinty of East Berlin; his step-daughter, Carla H. (William) Edwards of Mill Hall; his brother, Ardell (Donna) DuFour of Grampian; four sisters, Ruth (Gerald) Hodgson of New York, Deloris (Carl) Miller of Hughesville, Doris Solley of Grampian, and Hazel Weber of Curwensville; six grandchildren: Jerry Casale Jr., Jeremy and Devanie DuFour, Debbie Sampson, James Fetzer, and Billy Edwards, and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James “Jimmy” DuFour who passed away in 1983, and his siblings, Billy, Louis, Arthur, George, Ernie, and Robert DuFour.
A memorial service for Jerry will be announced at a later date.
