David DeWire Miller

David DeWire Miller, 80, died March 26, 2021 at Willow Point Nursing Home in Vestal, N.Y., from complications of Alzheimer’s Disease.

Mr. Miller was born on Sept. 21, 1940 in York, Pa., to Dora (Dewire) and Rev. Joseph H. Miller. He graduated from Lock Haven High School in Lock Haven. He married Patricia Mae Baker and they raised three children. He had a successful career with the Brush Moore chain of newspapers before retiring.

Later in life, David met Mary Swartz and they were married April 15, 2007 at Crossroads of Life Church Binghamton, N.Y. He enjoyed volunteering at the Campville Fire Department. Mary was at his side when he passed peacefully.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Joseph and Dora, and his brothers Joseph Jr., and Paul. He is survived by two sisters; Mary Louise and Ruth Anna. He is also survived by his son Kevin, daughter Terri and daughter Cindy, as well as nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

A huge thank you to the staff of Willow Point Nursing Home who loved and cared deeply for our Dad through very difficult times. Also to all the people in social services who helped point us in the right direction to get the help needed for our Dad.
