Mary Elizabeth (Jolin) Smith

Mary Elizabeth (Jolin) Smith, 95, of Williamsport, formerly of Lock Haven, died peacefully on Oct. 28, 2021 at UPMC Susquehanna in Williamsport, following a brief illness and surrounded by her family.

Born Sept. 15, 1926 in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Dorothy E. (Miller) Jolin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Smith, on Dec. 16, 2011, and her brother, Edward Jolin of Virginia. In addition to her parents, husband, and brother, she was also preceded in death by her son, Ronald D. Smith, formerly of Buffalo, N.Y. Ron's wife, Dawn Smith (Minier) resides in Fort Myers, Fla. She was also preceded in death by twin grandchildren (Fisher).

She is survived by a brother, William Jolin of South Carolina. Also surviving are her daughter, Teri (Barry) Fisher of Mill Hall, grandchildren including Josh (Satomi) Smith, of Buffalo, N.Y., Aaron (Jen) Smith of Oklahoma, Matt (Jessica) Smith, of Grand Island, N.Y., and Erica (Michael) Bischof of Williamsport, and Andrea (Jason) Roupp of Mill Hall and 10 great-grandchildren, Tyler and Jonathan Bischof, Kylie Lozensky, Samantha Roupp, Miana and Taka Smith, Maryella and Emmalynn Smith, and Leif and Wesley Smith and her loving companion, Albert "Al" Brown of Williamsport.

She was previously employed as a registered nurse with Manor Health Care Services. She also was a private practice nurse working with Dr. Delgrippo and Dr. McDonough in Lock Haven. She was a long-time member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Williamsport.

Mary Elizabeth, known as "Grammy Smith" to all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and their friends, loved spending time with them all through her years. She celebrated her 95th birthday in September with a "Pontoon Party" at the Blanchard Dam with her family. She also enjoyed playing cards with Al and their friends and participated in many clubs, committees, and activities at the Williamsport Home over the years.

A graveside memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Nov. 5, 2021 at Wildwood Cemetery, 1151 Cemetery Street, Williamsport, to be officiated by Pastor Tim Hartzell.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial contributions in Mary's name to St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, C/O St. Boniface Church, 326 Washington Blvd., Williamsport, Pa.
