Robert E. Merrill, 83, of Lock Haven, passed away Sunday, Dec. 26, 2021 at his home.
Born May 11, 1938 in Swissdale, Pa., he was the son to the late James Merrill and the former Erma Barto.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Judith A. Merrill; son, David W. "Butch" Merrill; and a granddaughter, Heather Ann Merrill.
He is survived by two sons, Michael A. (Lori) Merrill of Lock Haven and Randall L. (Christine) Merrill of Lock Haven; two daughters, Karen Merrill McCloskey of McElhattan and Wendy D. (Millard) Long of McElhattan; two sisters, Velma Shoemaker of McElhattan and Leotta (Gene) Summerson of McElhattan; 8 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Robert retired from Jersey Shore Steel after many years of service. He was also a self employed logger for Merrill Logging.
A visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 2021 at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 123 N. Main St., Jersey Shore, Pa. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. Friday at Welker Funeral Home.
