Shirley N. Anderson

Shirley (Krupa) Anderson of Davenport, Fla. passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at the George C. Forsythe Hospice House in Auburndale, Fla.

She was born Jan. 31, 1946 in Jersey Shore, Pa., to Herman Krupa and Beatrice (Thomas) Krupa.

She married the love of her life, William (Bill) Anderson, on June 29, 1968. He resides in Davenport, Fla. They would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary this year.

She leaves a son, Brian (Melinda) Anderson, of Plymouth, Mass.; a daughter, Miranda (Robert) Kujawa, of South Williamsport, Pa.; eight grandchildren: Shane Schake, Zachary (Shelby) Anderson, Brooklyn Kujawa, Paige Anderson, Madison Kujawa, Connor Apker, Madison Anderson and Kaitlyn Apker; one great-grandchild, Brantley Anderson; her sisters, Barbara (Ray) Miller, of Jersey Shore, Pa., and Amy (Ron) Barner, of Kearney, Mo.; and a brother, John (Margie) Krupa, of Avis, Pa.

Shirley graduated from Jersey Shore High School in 1963 and from the Clearfield School of Nursing in 1966. She was an RN for 30 years, working at Jersey Shore Hospital, Divine Providence Hospital and Williamsport Hospital.

After she retired from nursing, she dedicated her time supporting her husband, Bill, who was a United Methodist Minister serving in Montgomery, Catawissa and Woolrich, Pa.

Shirley formed the "Women of Harmony" singing group at the Catawissa United Methodist Church and the "Woolrich Woman's Chorus" at the Woolrich United Methodist Church.

After Bill retired in December 2013, they followed their dreams and moved to Central Florida to enjoy the sunshine and warmer weather.

Shirley loved to sew, shop, dine out for meals and simply be, in her happy place, at her home watching Fox News and HGTV with her Siamese cat, Thai.

She was a remarkable woman with a kind soul and she loved her family very much.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Welker's Funeral Home in Jersey Shore, Pa. on June 29, 2022.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice (George C. Forsythe House), 450 Arneson Avenue, Auburndale, FL 33823.
