Joseph B. Detweiler, 88, of 423 E. Winter Road, Loganton, PA passed away at home on Saturday, April 29, 2023.
He was the husband of the late Susie A. (Yoder) Detweiler who passed away on April 2, 2023.
Born in Allensville, Huntingdon County, Pa. on March 27, 1935, he was the son of the late Samuel and Lizzie (Hostetler) Detweiler.
He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
He is survived by 8 children, Mary (George) Mohler of McVeytown, Pa., Ruth (Rudy) Peachy of Rockville, Ind., Lizzie Mae (Benuel K.) Peachey of Allensville, Pa., David J. (Miriam) Detweiler of Rockville Ind., Gideon J. (Lizzie) Detweiler, Loganton, Pa., Samuel J. (Susie) Detweiler of Loganton, Pa., Susan Swarey (Benuel J.) of Rockville, Ind. and Joseph J. (Esther) of Blain, Pa.; 39 grandchildren and 56 great grandchildren.
Along with his wife and parents he was preceded in death two granddaughters Linda and Ruth Swarey; two grandsons Joseph Peachey and Samuel Swarey; and a brother David Deweiler.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, May 1, 2023 at the late residence at 11 a.m. Standard Time. A viewing will be held at the late residence from the time of this notice until time of the service. Final Interment will be held in Sugar Valley Amish Cemetery, Loganton, Pa.
