Lois F. Smith, of Bellefonte, Pa., went to be with the Lord, as she passed away peacefully at The Seasons of Life Hospice Home in Woodruff, Wis., on Oct. 25, 2023.
Lois was born on May 10, 1941, in Mill Hall, Pa., the daughter of Boyd C. and Leona B. Young.
Lois is survived by her husband, Ronald W. Smith, of Bellefonte. In addition, she is survived by her daughter, Angela Schuh, and her son, Michael Keck, from Minocqua and Arbor Vitae, Wis.; step-daughters, Melissa Strouse and Lisa Strouse, and a step-son, Steven Smith, all from Bellefonte, Pa.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Sandra McDaniel, of Pensacola, Fla.; and her brother, David Young, and his companion, Alice, of Marsh Creek, Pa.
She loved her dog, Charlie, whom she spent many hours together with.
One of her main passions was seeing different colored butterflies.
Lois graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1959. She worked for Bell Telephone for 18 years. She was a member of Pioneers of Bell.
She enjoyed her winters at Horizon Village in Florida and was a member of The Ladies Horizon Village Card Club.
Lois was very gifted with making various card designs and clothing designs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Boyd and Leona Young; her former husband, Lee A. Keck; brothers, Thomas Young, Allen Young and Ronald Young; and her sister, Shirley Bascher, of N. C.
There will be a private burial service at the convenience of the family at the Romola Christian Cemetery, Howard, Pa.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Singer-Kader-Neff Funeral Home in Howard, Pa.
