Marlyn R. "Marty" Smith, 87, of Mill Hall, passed away Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023 at the Gatehouse.
Born Oct. 20, 1936 in Jersey Shore, she was the daughter to the late Claude Bullock and the former Esther Haas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey J. "Popeye" Smith on Feb. 9, 2010. They were united in marriage on Dec. 31, 1960.
Marty was a member of the Flemington United Methodist Church. She retired from Keystone Central Food Service after many years of service. She loved crocheting and baking.
She is survived by three sons, Dewey J. (Lorie) Smith, of Beech Creek, Kevin L. Smith, of Lock Haven and Timothy W. (Mary) Smith, of Clarkstown; a daughter, Ruth A. Bower; 5 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Monday, Oct. 30, 2023 at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. Monday until the time of service at Welker Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in the Jersey Shore Cemetery. The Rev. Dean Olson will officiate.
