Ronald E. Long, 83, of Summerson Mountain, Pa., passed away Sunday, Dec. 17, 2023, at UPMC Susquehanna in Williamsport, Pa.
Born Aug. 11, 1940 in Renovo, he was a son of the late Charles B. and Rose (Zollars) Long.
Ronald worked for Pepsi Company as a repair technician and retired after several years.
He enjoyed hunting, loved his family and friends and was a "people person."
Ron loved watching the wildlife and tinkering around his house and fixing things. He was a former zoning inspector for Chapman Township.
Surviving are his companion of many years, Kathy Werts; two daughters, Sue (Alan) Billings and Roxann Staub, both of Taneytown, Md.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, George Long and Lester "Bucky" Long; a sister, Doris Mancini; along with other family members, Ted Dorn and Diana Dorn and their families.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three sons, Steve Long, James Long and George Dorn; a son-in-law, Ralph Staub, Sr.; and five siblings.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Maxwell Funeral Home in Renovo has charge of arrangements.
