Steven G. Miller, 75, of Hershey, Pa., formerly of Beech Creek, Pa., passed away on Feb. 10, 2024 at the Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Mechanicsburg.
He is survived by his wife, Linda (Roberts) Miller; his daughter, Jayne Miller; his sister, Sharon Miller Thompson; niece, Barbara Shultz; nephew, Alan Thompson; many cousins and his long time friend, Fred Lingle.
Born in Lock Haven, Pa., to Claire Miller nee Bitner in 1948, Steve was a 1966 graduate of the former Bald Eagle Nittany High School and a 1970 graduate of Lock Haven State. After college, he briefly taught at Bald Eagle Area High School. He then became employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, where he worked across teams, retiring as a human resources professional in 2006.
His mother and his father, Robert Miller, predeceased him.
Steven was an avidi Philadelphia Phillies fan. Notably, he attended the last Phillies game at Connie Mack Stadium, the first and last games at Veterans Stadium and the first game at Citizens Bank Park -- a fun fact he loved sharing with other fans.
From developing his vegetable garden at his longtime home in Bethel, Pa., to golfing with friends and attending Penn State football games and wrestling matches, Steven was known for his profound kindness, positivity and humor.
As Steve requested, funeral services will be private and in lieu of flowers, Steve would like donations be made in his name to the "Clinton and Centre County Baseball Hall of Fame," 77 Fairview St., Beech Creek, PA 16822.
