Marilyn E. (Sample) Gill, 72, of Mill Hall, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at her residence with her loving family by her side.
Born Dec. 31, 1951 in Lock Haven, she was a daughter of the late Vernon P. and Ada M. (Engle) Sample.
Marilyn was married on Aug. 23, 1969 to James R. Gill, Sr., who survives. They celebrated 54 years of marriage together.
She worked for Woolrich Woolen Mills, Kohen Cleaning and also worked as a private caretaker.
Marilyn was a member of the Salvation Army. She enjoyed Bingo, baking and attending sporting events for her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are her loving husband; two sons, James (Kelly) Gill, Jr., of Rote, and Timothy (Dawn) Gill, of Lock Haven; and four daughters, Jewel Moore, of Mill Hall, Volorea (Terry Kepler), of Jersey Shore, Tina (Tom) Hackenberg, of Renovo, and Angela Smith, and the late Rob Smith, of Williamsport.
She is survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Terry Sample, of Lock Haven; and a sister, April Butler, of Mill Hall.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Nyman and Bonnie Lucas; and two brothers, Steve Sample and Paul Sample.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall. Friends and relatives will be received from 9-10 a.m.
Interment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.
