Kathryn E. (Geise) Hirlinger, 89, of Renovo, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Haven Place in Lock Haven.
Born Nov. 10, 1934 in Sunbury, she was a daughter of the late Lester and Ruth (Hummel) Geise.
She was married in Renovo to Raymond G. Hirlinger in 1956 until his passing in 2014.
Kay graduated from Renovo High School in 1952 and the Williamsport Hospital School of Nursing in 1955.
After a short employment in Ohio, she started work at the Bucktail Medical Center in 1963 and retired in 1985. She worked an additional two years with Community Nursing.
Kay enjoyed tending to her backyard flowers and crocheting. She especially loved the time spent with her family.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Surviving are three children, Karen (Rick) Miller, of Williamsport, Kevin (Tracie) Hirlinger, of Mill Hall, and Ruth (Mark) Allen of O'Fallon, Ill.
Also surviving are her grandchildren, Erica, Dan and Andrew Miller, Matthew and Stephen Hirlinger, Alicia (Josh) Touma, Tyler (Laura) Allen, Bryan Allen; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Nancy (Jim) Bowes, of Flemington.
A private funeral will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hyner.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church (Improvement Fund) in her memory.
