Maxine Loyce Summerson

MAXINE SUMMERSON

Maxine Loyce Summerson, 87, of Lemont, died Saturday, May 18, 2024, at home.

Born Sept. 9, 1936, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert A. and Margaret L. Woodring McKinley.

She is survived by four children, Ronald Lee Hoy, of Pennsylvania Furnace, Kenneth Eugene Hoy and his wife, Deborah Seacrest, of Huntingdon, Randy Irvin Hoy and Patty Ann Hoy, both of Lamar; four siblings, Sue E. Porter and her husband, Chuck, of Pleasant Gap, Nancy C. Yecina and her husband, John, of Snow Shoe, Larry McKinley and his wife, Tina, of Bellefonte, and Marcie E. Bathurst, of Muncy; three grandchildren, Ashley and Jessika Garret and Michael Hoy; and three great-grandchildren, Tristian and Carter Shelley and Dominic Hummer, Jr.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings, James L. McKinley, Raymond G. McKinley, Ronald C. McKinley and Hazel I. McKinley.

Maxine was a 1954 graduate of Bald Eagle High School.

Prior to retirement she was employed as a cook for a fraternity at Penn State University.

Maxine was a member of the Spring Creek Presbyterian Church of Lemont and the State College Lions Club.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
