George (Eddie) Weaver, 73, of Howard, passed away at his home surrounded by his family, on June 9, 2024. Born Nov. 25, 1950, in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Guy E. and Ruby L. (Goodling) Weaver. In 1969, he married his high-school sweetheart, Trudy (Kunes), of Beech Creek.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Connie M. Poorman of Beech Creek.
Eddie was a graduate of Lock Haven Highschool and went on to Stevens trade School, in Lancaster, Pa. and graduated as a machinist. He furthered his career as a Tool & Die Maker at Cerro Metals, Bellefonte. He also worked at Central Valley Transportation in Beech Creek, The Ranch Tavern in Howard and Martin Marietta Aerospace in Colorado. He then was employed at Penn State University in the Applied Research Lab, of which he retired from in 2013.
He grew up and worked the Family farm in March Creek, as well as cut and hauled paper wood to Hammermill and Tyrone. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grand-children and going to "Weaver's" Camp with uncles and cousins for many years. He was a fan of Penn State football and wrestling, camping, snowmobiling and 4-wheeler riding, along with watching many westerns.
Eddie will be remembered for his work ethics and good nature, as well as a bit of agitating many of his family and friends.
Surviving is his loving wife, Trudy, and his two children, Amy (Scott) Summey and Jade (Katie) Weaver; grandchildren, Tiffany Kolp, Evan Pletcher, Kendra Robinson, Vincent Barletta and Kaydence Weaver; great-grandson, Suede Robinson. Also surviving are his sister, Sheila Weaver, known as Tilk, and brother Dwayne (Sherry) Weaver and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral and visitation services will be held at Singer-Kader-Neff Funeral Home in Howard. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 12 from 6 9 p.m. and a short visitation on Thursday, June 13 at 10 a.m., prior to the funeral service at 11 a.m. The burial will follow at the Ramola Christian Cemetery in Marsh Creek.
