Carl E. ‘Buck’ Miller
Carl E. “Buck” Miller, 75, formerly of Picture Rocks, and most recently of Lock Haven, died Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born May 10, 1949, in Muncy, he was a son of the late Marlin and Donna (Shaner) Miller.
After completing high school at East Lycoming School District, Buck joined the U.S. Army and did one tour of duty in Vietnam from 1970 to 1971. His dedication to his country was a testament of his strong character and unwavering commitment to all veterans. Upon his discharge from the Army, Buck was employed at the former Montgomery Mills, and retired in 2014 from Andritz, Muncy, after having worked there for over 40 years.
Buck was a proud member and supporter of numerous veterans’ organization’s including, Vietnam Veterans of America, a charter member, life member and past post commander of the Veterans of all Eras, past president of the Lycoming County Veterans Council, past board member of Veterans Memorial Park, Picture Rocks and a member of American Legion, Post 35, Hughesville. He was also a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Hughesville, and enjoyed attending the state farm show, large horse pulls, the county fairs and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving is a son, Scott Miller, of Montoursville; two daughters, Amanda (Jeff) Deloach, of Estill, S.C., and Nicole Miller, of Lock Haven; a brother, Wayne Miller, of Loyalsock Township; a sister, Debra Miller, of Hughesville; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, Buck was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Delores J. Miller; and a brother, Robert Miller.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2024, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville with Rev. James Girven officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Hughesville. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 26, at the funeral home.
