Kristen Marie Hayes, 51, passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, July 4, 2024, after a long battle with lupus and other health complications. She was known for her love of family, animals and dedication to protecting the sanctity of all life through her founding of the non-profit P.S.A.L.M.
Kristen's life was one of passion, whether on the soccer field or in the pool during her youth, or on the ground fighting for the rights of vulnerable communities in her adulthood.
She was a beloved mother, sister, daughter, granddaughter, niece and member of the community, going as far as to touch the hearts of even strangers through her acts of compassion.
Kristen is survived by her children, Dani, Ryenn and Aiden Hayes; her brother, Scott Hayes; her parents, Dan and Joanne Hayes; her many adored aunts, uncles and cousins; and her cherished friends, including Heather Mogish.
There will be two memorial services, the first of which will occur on July 27 at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel on Saint Joseph's University's campus in Philadelphia. The second will be on Aug. 3 at 12 p.m. in Saint Agnes Church in Lock Haven, followed by a Celebration of Life luncheon in the Parish Center. Friends and family are invited to attend, and it is requested that all wear bright colors, especially purple as that was her favorite, to celebrate her life and legacy.
If desired, donations may be made to one of the following charities: The Lupus Foundation of America or the Clinton County Women's Center, Roads to Peace.
Above all, the best way to carry her legacy forward is to act in a way that cares for the whole person, "cura personalis."
