Joseph "Joe" M. DeBrasky, 82, of Bellefonte, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024, at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. Born on Sept. 13, 1941, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Andrew DeBrasky, Jr. and Dorothy (Spicer) DeBrasky.
In 1966, he married his beloved wife, Patricia "Pat" (Bryan) DeBrasky, who survives at home after sharing 58 years of marriage together.
Joe was a graduate of Bellefonte High School. After school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserve. Joe was well known for his mechanical abilities, from vehicles to HVAC equipment. He was part owner at Jim & Joe's Texaco from 1966 until 1986, before taking a position at Centre Oil & Gas from 1986 until his retirement in 2013.
In addition to his wife, Pat, he is survived by his daughter, Michelle "Micki" DeBrasky Hartranft (John); grandsons, Andy Myers (Ann) and John "L J" Hartranft, II (Megan); and great grandchildren, Liam, Coy, Scout and Avery, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Rich DeBrasky (Leona) and a sister, Jane Morrison (Jim).
He looked forward to the family vacations to Ocean City, Md., with his siblings and in-laws throughout the years.
Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
