Ethel E. (Hanscom) Donley, 85, of Linden, entered into her eternal rest on Friday, Sept. 27, 2024.
Born on Dec. 22, 1938 in Julian, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Bertha (Rowin) Hanscom.
On Jan. 8, 1958, she married the love of her life, Edward H. Donley, who preceded her in death in May of 2018.
Ethel was part of the first class to graduate from Bald Eagle Area High School in 1956. She was self-employed, selling Shaklee Products, since 1972. She was very proud of the Shaklee Products and what they stood for.
Ethel was a member of the Pine Run Bible Church.
She was an outgoing and talkative woman that loved her family beyond measure. She was loyal and extremely passionate about the things and people she loved.
Ethel is survived by her son, Kurt E. Donley, of Julian; her son in-law, Eugene "Gene" Rhinehart, of Avis; three grandchildren, Morgan Fisher, Makayla Lose and Trent Donley; two great-grandchildren, Colsen and Bennett; and another great-grandchild on the way. She is also survived by two brothers, Roy and Louis Hanscom; and three sisters, Rosie Stamm, Sylvia Renninger and Dorothy Wert.
Along with her husband and parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her daughter, Vicki L. Rhinehart, in January of 2023; and eight siblings, Alfred Hanscom, Carl Hanscom, Teddy Hanscom, Jerome Hanscom, Gertrude Albert, Wanita Dreibelbis, JoAnne Blazer and Evelyn Hanscom.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2024, from 9-11 a.m., at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Milesburg.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor Grant Helsel officiating. She will be laid to rest privately next to her husband at the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Julian.
The family is requesting that rather than sending flowers, they would prefer you to make a donation to a local charity of the donor's choice.
