James L. Lomax

James L. Lomax, 84, of Mill Hall, formerly of Renovo, died on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, at his home.

He was born in Renovo on March 4, 1940, the son of the late John and Frances (Conway) Lomax.

James married the former Carol R. (Raemsch) on March 12, 1960. They celebrated 61 years of marriage together until her death on Feb. 8, 2022.

He served his country proudly in the United States National Guard for six years.

James worked as a welder and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed time on Summerson Mountain with his son, Mark.

James is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Mark and Linda Lomax, of Montoursville, Fred Lomax, of Flemington, and Jim and Hyun Lomax, of Mill Hall; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret, of Ohio.

In addition to his parents and wife, James was preceded in death by a grandson, Justin Lomax; a brother, Ron; and three sisters, Joan, Marlene and Louise.

The family is thankful for the care that was given to him by his sisters-in-law, Arlene and Stella, and the special care from his niece, Becky.

Private family services will be held at Helt Funeral Chapel in Mill Hall followed by burial in North Bend Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth Street, Renovo.
