Mrs. Jane Esther (Bechdel) Briggs, 82, of Monument, Pa., passed away peacefully on Oct. 27, 2024.
Jane was born Oct. 7, 1942, the second child of Emerald and Mary (Woomer) Bechdel.
She graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1960.
In 1966, Jane married Raymond Briggs, and together they built a life filled with love, resilience and devotion.
Jane's greatest pride and joy came from raising her six beloved sons, Wesley, Howard, David, Mitchell, Michael and Raymond, Jr. (Chip).
Her family continued to grow, blessing her with 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, each of whom brought her endless joy and laughter.
Throughout her career, Jane was known for her warmth and generosity. She worked with Avon and in banquet management, where her meticulous care touched countless lives. In retirement, Jane found fulfillment through her service with the Salvation Army, embodying her lifelong commitment to helping others in her community.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond; sisters, Emaline and Amelia; and her son, Michael. She is lovingly remembered by her surviving siblings, Dolores, Emerald (Bud), Relda, Roberta (Byrd) and Martha; and by all who knew her for her kindness, resilience and generous heart.
Services to honor Jane's life will be held at the Beech Creek Wesleyan Church on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024. Viewing will take place from 10-11 a.m., immediately followed by a service. A private commitment service will follow at Summit Hill Wesleyan Cemetery in Marsh Creek.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Salvation Army in Jane's memory, ensuring that her legacy of kindness and caring lives on.
