Michelene Rich, 79, of Woolrich, Pa., passed away Nov. 5, 2024, at home with family.
Michelene was born Feb. 9, 1945, a daughter of the late Lois Ohl and Michael Bond Rich, II.
She is a graduate of Lock Haven High School. She went on to receive a Bachelor's degree from Lycoming College and a Master's degree from IUP in education. She was an elementary school teacher in Keystone Central for 30+ years.
Michelene was proceeded in death by her beloved parents; as well as her cherished niece, Sonja (Rich) Barner; and nephew, Michael B. Rich, IV.
She is survived by her siblings, Michael (Jolene) Rich, III, Suzanne Rich and Elizabeth (Rick) Everett. In addition to her siblings, she is survived by her nieces/nephews, Chad (Jessica) Hunter, Erin Dieter, Parker (Emma) Everett, Devan (Tyler) Corl and Tammy Rich; and eight great nieces and nephews.
Michelene's nieces and nephews were the absolute joys of her life and she adored them all. She devoted much of her time caring for them and creating lasting memories.
She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, traveling the world, reading, shopping for her loved ones and writing her weekly letters to friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, Nov. 11, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall.
Burial will be private at Woolrich Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Ross Library, Hillman Cancer Center or the UPMC Hospice through the funeral chapel.
