Vera Louise "Moyer" Bair, formerly of Rebersburg, passed away Nov. 22, 2024 at Juniper Village in State College. She was 89. Born July 2, 1935, in Logan Mills, Vera was a daughter of the late Daniel W. and Myrtle C. "Geise" Moyer. She attended Sugar Valley High School. On March 20, 1953, Vera married R. Gerald Bair who preceded her in death.
Vera was a member of the former St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Rebersburg, now Brush Valley Fusion of Faith. Vera worked alongside Gerald on the family farm. After the sale of the cows, she went to work at the Nittany Lion Inn and then finally retired from the housekeeping department at Penn State University. Vera enjoyed bowling and was an active member of the Millheim bowling league until her early 80's. She also enjoyed doing latch hook rugs, swimming with family and friends in their pool, camping, traveling, Grange Fair and hosting family events at the farm. Vera especially enjoyed spending time with grandchildren and family.
Vera is survived by one daughter, Connie Price (Dennis); one son, Gene Bair (Judy); one daughter in law, Pamela Bair; all of Rebersburg; and siblings, Elizabeth McCauley, Eunice Jeffries, Ellen Strouse (Ed) and Naomi English. Also surviving are grandchildren, Jennifer Bair-Cicoria (Jason), Eric Weaver (Mallory), Jesse Weaver (Adrian), Madison Bair, Nicholas Bair and Allyson Tingle; and great grandchildren, Teagan, Rileigh, Preston and Colton Weaver and Danika Evano. In addition to her husband Gerald, Vera was preceded in death by her son Rick.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Miles Township firehall in Rebersburg. The Celebration of Life service will follow with Pastor Julie Holm officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Vera may be given to Brush Valley Fusion of Faith, POB 52, Madisonburg, PA 16852 or to Miles Township Fire Co., POB 155 Rebersburg, PA 16872.
