Zetta Y. Sweeley

Zetta Y. Sweeley, 87, of Mill Hall, passed away Thursday, Nov. 28, 2024, at The Williamsport Home, Williamsport, Pa.

Born April 11, 1937 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Boyd and Reba Shady Yost.

Zetta was a 1955 graduate of Lock Haven High School.

She retired as a Library Assistant from Keystone Central School District.

On Sept. 6, 2003, she married Donald R. Sweeley, who survives.

Zetta was a member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ and attended Flemington United Methodist Church, where she faithfully served as a member of the choir and on the church board.

Zetta enjoyed tending to her garden, reading, playing cards with her card group and visiting with her regular lunch friends. She was an accomplished cook and baker and enjoyed entertaining with family and friends. Zetta was a loyal participant in the Clinton County Relay for Life for many years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Dr. John (Dottie) Bailey, of Williamsport, and Toni (Jeff) Snyder, of Lock Haven; two step-sons, Wayne A. (Gaylene) Sweeley, of Rote, and Mark (Stephanie) Sweeley, of Williamsport; a sister, Patricia Rayhorn, of Florida; four grandchildren, Bailey (Joe) Shawley, of Lock Haven, Jonathan (April) Snyder, of Trout Run, Bradley Bailey, of Massachusetts, and Danielle Bailey, of Jersey Shore; three step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Ronald Yost, Velma Rockey, Donna Ishler and Wanda Yost.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024, at 11 a.m., at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High Street, Flemington, Pa., with Pastor David Miller officiating.

Friends and family will be received at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the start of the service.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Clinton County Relay for Life.
