Carl J. Inglesby
Carl J. Inglesby, 91, died Dec. 11, 2024, at Juniper Village at Brookline, State College. He was born April 26, 1933, in Camden, N.J., the son of John J. Inglesby Jr., and Alberta Eldridge Inglesby.
Butch graduated from Trenton High School and attended St. Lawrence University before joining the United States Air Force. He achieved the rank of 1st Lieutenant in the USAF flying fighter jets. While serving in the Air Force he married Joan Patricia Shirley of Gananoque Ontario, and they later settled in Yardley, Pa. Upon his honorable discharge from the Air Force, Butch joined Trans World Airlines as a Pilot, retiring as Captain on the 747 in 1990.
Butch was an avid traveler and enthusiastic tour director for his family and friends. He especially loved life on the St. Lawrence River and was rarely spotted without his Yorkie in tow. He entertained all who knew him with his colorful stories.
Butch was predeceased by his parents and wife, and his brothers Jack and David and his sister Joan. He is survived by his son, Carl J. Inglesby and his wife Stephanie Moore, of Unionville, Pa.; daughters, Patricia Inglesby Tague and husband Rick, of Wellesley Island N.Y. and Michelle Casserly and husband Tim, of Latham, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, Stewart Tague (Lauren), Lindsay Olson (Andrew), Hannah Inglesby, Nathan Inglesby (Olivia Vaughn), Christopher Casserly (Danna), Daniel Casserly (Mallory), Ryan Casserly (Emily); great-grandchildren Cora and Amelia Casserly, Brooklyn and Brady Tague and Clara and Lillian Olson.
A private burial service will be held by the family in the Thousand Islands.
