Florence J. "Missy" Beal, 94, went home to be with the Lord Jesus and all her past relatives and friends on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024. Missy spent the last nine plus years of her life with superb care at Haven Place nursing home.
Missy was born on April 13, 1930 in Lock Haven, to the late Harvey and Florence (Walker) Waterman.
Missy was married 54 years to the late Benjamin H. Beal, Jr., who passed away in 2005.
She was a member of the Swissdale United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. She also babysat children in her home from the late 1960's to the early 1990's. In those 30 some years she babysat 75 or more children.
Missy is survived by three children, Benjamin H. (Patricia) Beal, of Duboistown, John L. (Vicki) Beal, of Rote, and Teri B. Beal, of Avis.
Missy also leaves behind five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Bobbie Jean Miller; a brother, Robert Waterman; and a sister, E. Lorraine Paules.
Funeral services for Florence J. Beal will be held on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025, at 11 a.m., at the Gedon Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven, Pa. Officiating will be Pastor Jack Hocker of the Swissdale United Methodist Church.
Friends and family will be received in the funeral home one hour prior to the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Missy's name to the Swissdale United Methodist Church, 974 Croak Hollow Road, Lock Haven, PA 17745.
