Delores C. Rainey

Delores C. Rainey, 80, met her Lord and Savior at Geisinger Medical Center on Jan. 17, 2025, surrounded by her family following a brief illness, just two days shy of her 81st birthday.

Born in Jersey Shore on Jan. 19, 1944, she was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Elizabeth Kitchen; and a sister Mary Francis.

Delores is survived by brothers, Kenny (Mimi), Harold (Patty), Steven (Angie) and Bobby; and her sister, Hope (Tessie) Allen.

She is also survived by John R. Rainey whom she shared 62 fulfilling years of marriage. They shared a partnership full of love, laughter and commitment to family.

Delores was a devoted mother to Kristine Rainey-Wright (Victor) and Dawn Fulkrod (Jim); a beloved grandmother to Gary, Amanda (Jeremy), Levi (Dawn) and Erica (TJ); and the cherished great-grandmother (Nanny) to Mia, Hunter, Kirra, Addie, Wyatt, Eligh, Carter and Nova.

Delores committed herself to her family and friends. For many years she was a garment supervisor, which included many years devoted to the success of Montgomery Sportswear. Always the first to help in times of need, she gave others considerably more than what she expected for herself. Her legacy of love and service to others will live on through all those she met and impacted in her lifetime.

A Celebration of Life will be held on April 26, 2025, at Lighthouse Wesleyan Church, to celebrate the impact of a remarkable soul and enduring force.
