Dolores Ann ‘Dee-Dee’ Gregory

Dolores Ann “Dee-Dee” Gregory passed away on Jan. 21, 2025.

She was born on Nov. 17, 1940 in Philadelphia, Pa., to the late Robert W. Gorman and Vera Pizzino Gorman.

After graduating from St. Joe’s High School in 1958 she worked as a secretary for the State Department of Public Instruction (now Dept. of Education) in Harrisburg for six years. Later in life, she worked for KCSD at Bucktail H.S. as a custodian for 18 1/2 years.

Dolores was a lifetime member of St. Joseph’s Church in Renovo.

She was married to Carl R. Gregory on Dec. 26, 1963. Carl preceded her in death on May 14, 2009.

She enjoyed her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are three daughters, Christine (Scott) Connelley, of McElhattan, Stephanie Gregory, of Renovo, and Jacqueline (Rick) Weaver, of Lock Haven. Also, the loves of her life are her grandchildren, Carl (Bethany) Burrows, of Hyner, Nicole (Garrett) Keller, of Woolrich, whom she called daughter No. 4, Christopher (MaryAnne) Burrows, of Aviano, Italy, Michelle (David) Reese, of Lynchburg, Va., Steven Hogg, of Pittsburg, and Shawna (Gio) Poorman, of Lock Haven.

Dolores also adored her great-grandchildren, Haley Christine Burrows, of Hyner, Emma Christine Burrows, of Aviano, Italy, Jocelyn Carleigh Keller, of Woolrich, Addison Lou Burrows, of Aviano, Italy, Garrett Michael Keller, II, of Woolrich, and Declan Keith Keller, of Woolrich, and Maxon Reese and Merrick Reese, of Virginia.

She also leaves a special nephew, Robert W. Shook, and niece, Susan (James) Morgan.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister and best friend, Mary L. Shook, on Feb. 2, 2001; and a brother-in-law, Ronald R. Shook, on Jan. 12, 1983.

She was someone who always put family first and played a special part by giving with a kind heart to family.

A private memorial service will be celebrated at a later date at the St. Joe’s Chapel in Hyner.

Memorial contributions can be made in her name to the improvement fund at St Joe’s Catholic Church in Renovo.

Arrangements are being handled by the Maxwell Funeral Home in Renovo.
