Douglas E. ‘Slug’ Homan
Douglas E. “Slug” Homan, of Aaronsburg, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2025, at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. He was 65.
Born July 11, 1959, in Princeton, N.J., Doug was a son of Arden D. Homan and the late Patricia A. “Parr” Homan.
He was a 1977 graduate of Penns Valley High School.
The love of his life and lifetime partner of 36 years, Kelli L. Musser, survives at their home.
Doug was employed in the refrigeration department at Hanover Foods, retiring in 2017 with 39 years of service.
He was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Minnesota Vikings fan.
Doug was a member of the Millheim Fire Company and enjoyed hunting, golfing, fishing, shooting darts, bowling and playing softball.
In addition to Kelli, Doug is survived by a son, Bradley M. Musser, of Aaronsburg; a sister, Karen Homan DeGarmo, of Aaronsburg; two brothers, Robert D. Homan, of Rebersburg, and Keith A. Homan (Cindy), of Brookville; and a special niece, Amy G. Norton.
Also surviving are eight nieces and nephews, Adam and Amanda DeGarmo, Carly Firth, Dustin and Caleb Perrin, Lydia Homan and Lisa and MacKenzie Dix; along with numerous other nieces and nephews; his special feline friend, Callie; and special canine friends, Jack and Buck.
In addition to his mother, Patricia, Doug was preceded in death by his sister, Terri Homan; and his sister-in-law, Amy Homan.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, Feb. 3, 2025, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025, at 11 a.m., at the funeral home with Pastor Theresa Hockenberry officiating. Doug will be laid to rest in the Reformed Cemetery in Aaronsburg.
