Betty I. Robinson, 84, of Julian, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2025, at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born on Jan. 26, 1941, in Gill Town, Pa., she was the daughter of the late LaRue J. and Irene E. (Duck) Thomas. On Feb. 27, 1963, she married the love of her life, Wayne L. Robinson, in Bellefonte. Wayne preceded her in death on April 6, 2023.
Betty attended the Bellefonte Area High School and worked for many years at Penn State in the Housekeeping Department. She later worked alongside her husband on their family farm. A woman of strong faith, Betty was a member of the Methodist faith.
Betty had many interests, and her hobbies reflected her creativity and love for life. She was an avid crafter, enjoying everything from crocheting and sewing to experimenting with new projects. Betty was an excellent cook and loved hosting friends and family in her home. Whether it was watching Hallmark movies, cheering for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers or Penn State football, she always found joy in the little things.
Betty was a dedicated shopper, always seeking out a good bargain at places like Belleville, Walmart or the local yard sales. Her beautiful flower gardens added color and life to her home, a reflection of her nurturing spirit. She had a keen eye for detail and was always ready for an adventure, even if it was just a trip to the store.
Throughout her life, Betty showed incredible resilience. The past year was particularly difficult, but she never gave up and remained steadfast in the face of adversity. Known for her honesty, Betty never hesitated to speak her mind--whether sharing good news or difficult truths, you always knew where you stood with her.
Betty is survived by her son, Michael W. Robinson (Amy Burns), of Julian; daughter, Bette "Bunny" Robinson (Raj), of Mount Holly Springs, Pa.; sister, Margaret Ripka, of Warriors Mark; and brother, Richard "Jess" Thomas, of Pleasant Gap. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Kyle, Shane, Ava Lynn, Ridge, Alan, Ashton and Tyler, and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Alan B. "George" Robinson, and two brothers, John E. Thomas and William "Buck" Thomas.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Milesburg. The funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. with Pastor Samantha McElwee officiating. Betty will be laid to rest at Zion Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Lance and Ellen Shaner Cancer Pavilion at Mount Nittany Health, 1800 E. Park Ave, State College, PA 16803.
