George Harold Keibler

GEORGE KEIBLER

George Harold Keibler, 93, of Zion, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025, at Eagle Valley Personal Care Home in Milesburg.

Born Oct. 25, 1931, in New Kensington, Pa., he was the son of the late Homer and Violet (Dumont) Keibler.

On July 16, 1960, he married his beloved wife, Beverly F. (Houston) Keibler, who preceded him in death on March 9, 2018, after sharing 57 years of marriage together.

George was a 1949 graduate of New Kensington High School. He served four years in the United States Air Force with a major assignment of three years occupational duty in Germany.

He was a graduate of the Pennsylvania State Police Academy at Hershey. He was a career veteran of the PA State Police, serving from 1954 to 1984. In his career he served in western PA and in 1965 was assigned to the Rockview barracks as the Officer in Charge, a position he held off and on until his retirement in 1984.

During his career, he attended numerous classes at Penn State, Indiana University of Pa., and Northwestern University.

After retiring from the state police, he and Beverly traveled within the United States and parts of Canada.

From 1986 until 1995, he worked as a security officer for M.L. Claster & Sons of Bellefonte.

George is survived by his son, Gary Keibler (Julie), of Blanchard; and two grandsons, Michael (Bethany), of West Virginia, and Joshua, of Blanchard. Also surviving is a sister, Florence Moro (Edward), of Apollo; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Robert Keibler, on Jan. 31, 2023.

A public viewing will be held on Monday, Feb. 17, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring St., Bellefonte.

Funeral services will begin at noon at the funeral home, with Pastor Scott Brown officiating. Burial services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
