Linda Ellen Confer, 77, of Hunter Run Road, Howard, Pa., passed away, Feb. 13, 2025, at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
She was born, March 8, 1947, in Lock Haven, to the late Roy M. Young and Celia Heverly.
She was united in marriage to Dennis M. Confer on Feb. 12, 1966. He preceded her in death, Jan. 15, 2022.
Linda was a member of the Faith Chapel United Methodist Church of Hunter Run, Howard, and a member of the Red Hat Ladies.
She enjoyed making soap, sewing and craft fairs with her close friend, Susan Hanna. She also enjoyed traveling with family and friends, playing games and reading with her great-grandchildren and volunteering with her church.
She had been employed at the Woolrich Woolen Mills plant in Blanchard until its closing.
Survivors include her two sons, Michael B. (Ilene) Confer, of Beech Creek, and Jeffrey L. (Kelly) Confer, of Howard; four grandchildren, Nina (Chris) Heck, of Avis, Hannah Confer, of Blanchard, Brooke (Trevor) Smith, of Woolrich, and Chase Confer, of Howard; great-grandchildren, Autumn Heck, Summer Heck, Calen Heck, Andrew Watkins, Jr. and Emberlyn Watkins.
She is also survived by three sisters, Darlene (Chris) Butler, of Utah, Rose (John) Dunkle, of Arizona, and Gail (Jerry) Bechdel, of Howard; a brother, Gary (Bonnie) Pletcher, of Howard; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Walter Pletcher; a sister, Joy Falls; and Andrew Watkins, Sr., the father of her great-grandchildren.
Memorial services for Linda Ellen Confer will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025, at 11 a.m., in the Faith Chapel United Methodist Church of Hunter Run, 551 Hunter Run Road, Howard, Pa. Officiating will be Pastor Jeanette E. Desmond of the church.
Family and friends will be received in the church one hour prior to the services. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in the Schenck Cemetery, Howard, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions will be accepted to the church.
