PSP still looking for driver in serious hit-and-run along Monument Orviston Road
BEECH CREEK — State police at Lamar are still looking for the identity of a driver involved in a serious hit and run crash that occurred in July 2024 along Monument Orviston Road, Beech Creek Township.
On July 27, at about 2:38 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 600 block of the roadway for reports of a single vehicle crash with an unresponsive driver, a 62-year-old Huntingdon Valley, Pa., man, police said.
During the investigation, it was determined another vehicle was involved in the crash, with both vehicles striking their driver’s side mirrors while negotiating a curve in the roadway, police said.
The mirror of the unknown vehicle came through the open window of the victim’s vehicle, striking him in the head and causing him to crash into a wooded area, police said.
The victim sustained serious bodily injury as a result of the crash while the other vehicle — believed to be a Ford 150 or 250 with a tow mirror — fled the scene, traveling west on Monument Orviston Road, police said.
Police believe the crash occurred at about 8 a.m. that day.
PSP Lamar have pursued multiple avenues in its investigation but are continuing to ask the public for help in identifying the vehicle and its driver involved in the crash, police said.
Anyone with information about the other party is asked to contact PSP at 570-726-6000 and ask for Trooper Fusco.
