Walter Lee Dunkle, 92, retired general manager of Westinghouse's Oceanic Division in Annapolis, Md., died at his home on Pine Creek on Feb. 20. A Jersey Shore native, Dunkle was a physics graduate of Pennsylvania State University who specialized in Top Secret defense technologies for the U.S. Navy, in which he had served during the Korean War. He also belonged to Masonic Lodge 755 in Williamsport. A lifelong Republican, he was also a former Watson Township supervisor. A memorial celebration for family and friends will happen this Saturday, March 1, from 2 to 5 p.m. at 122 Bear Drive, Jersey Shore. To honor Dunkle's alma mater, guests are asked to dress informally in blue and white.
