Wayne Richard Shuey, Sr., 91, of Lake Alfred, Fla., formerly of Lock Haven, Pa., passed away Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025, at the Spring Lake Rehabilitation Center in Winter Haven, Fla.
He was born on May 16, 1933, to Frank and Madeline Shuey of Lock Haven, Pa.
A graduate of Lock Haven High School, Wayne enlisted in the Army during the Korean Conflict, until his honorable discharge in 1961.
He was a past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge #182 and a longtime member of the Hope Hose Fire Company, both located in his hometown of Lock Haven.
Wayne was preceded in death by Janet, his loving wife of 67 years; and his brother, Dennis Shuey.
Survivors include his son, Wayne R. Shuey, Jr. (Rick) and his wife, Ilene, of Port St. Lucie Fla.; and his beloved granddaughter, Lauren Shuey-Javitt and her husband, Dan Javitt, of Hoboken, N.J.
A Celebration of Life Service, will be officiated by Pastor Cathy Thacker, a dear friend and former Pastor of the United Methodist Church of Lake Alfred, Fla. The service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 11 a.m. at The Cypress Greens Clubhouse, 1000 Cypress Creek Blvd., Lake Alfred, FL.
In lieu of flowers, a donation by be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
