Clyde L. Probst, 89, of Lake Jackson, Texas, formerly of Williamsport, died Friday, March 14, 2025, at Creekside Personal Care Home in Richwood, Texas.
He was born on Aug. 4, 1935, in Lock Haven, and was the son of the late Earl R. and Emma R. (Helbley) Probst.
On June 8, 1957, Clyde married the late Jane B. (Bollinger) Probst and they celebrated 56 years of marriage together until her death on Sept. 13, 2013.
Clyde was a graduate of Lock Haven High School, Class of 1953. He went on to work for PPL in their customer service department and then worked as a bookkeeper for C. & E. Containers, Jersey Shore.
He was a member of Wings of Love Community Church, South Williamsport. Clyde was a simple man, he loved spending time with his church and family.
Clyde is survived by a son and daughter-in-law; M. Christopher and Brenda Probst, of Lock Haven; a daughter, Michella Lane, of Lake Jackson, Texas; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ray Probst, of Atlanta, Ga., and Dave Probst, of Montoursville; and a sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Lonnie Snell, of South Williamsport.
In addition to his parents and wife, Clyde was preceded in death by a son, Marc Probst; and a daughter, Melissa Probst.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wings of Love Community Church, South Williamsport.
A Celebration of Life service will take place at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Wings of Love Community Church, 699 Southmont Ave., South Williamsport, PA 17702, with Pastor John Butler officiating.
Burial will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family in Swissdale Cemetery, Lock Haven.
Local arrangements are being handled by Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall, Pa.
