John A. Keeler, 86, of Castanea, passed away on March 4, 2025, at Haven Place in Lock Haven.
John was born in McAdoo, Pa., to John and Viola Boyer Keeler on June 10, 1938.
He graduated from McAdoo High School. He joined the U. S. Air Force that same year and served four years. John then went on to become a Pennsylvania State Trooper and was a criminal investigator for 28 years. After retiring from the Pennsylvania State Police, he worked for 20 years as a detective in Clinton County with District Attorney Ted McKnight's office, retiring in 2008.
John was a member of the Lock Haven Elks Lodge, Knights of Columbus and the Fraternal Order of Police.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Donna Manno Keeler; a son, Chris Keeler, of Lock Haven; a granddaughter, Sadie Keeler; and great-grandson, Hudson Bechdel, of Lock Haven; a sister-in-law, Betty Keeler, of Mahoney City; a brother-in-law, Lester Rafalli, of South Carolina; brother-in-laws Kenneth (Sharon) Manno, of Boalsburg, and Dennis Manno, of Lock Haven; and a sister-in-law, Sandra Manno, of Mill Hall.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Peter Keeler; a sister, Carole Rafalli; and a brother-in-law, Ralph Manno, Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, March 10, 2025, in the St. Agnes Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 3 E. Walnut St., Lock Haven, at 12 p.m. Officiating will be Father Joseph Orr of the Holy Spirit Parish. Interment will be in the St. Agnes Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received in the Gedon Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, LLC, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven, from 9:30-11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in John's name to the Lock Haven Catholic School, 311 W. Water St., Lock Haven, PA 17745.
