Richard L. Huggins

Richard L. Huggins, 79, of West Reading, formerly of Lock Haven, passed away on Friday, Feb. 14, 2025, at Hershey Medical Center.

Born Aug. 22, 1945, in Corning, N.Y., he was the son of the late Harlow and Winifred (Button) Huggins.

Richard was a 1963 graduate of Williamson Jr./Sr. High School in Tioga. After school, he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War from June 1963 until he was honorably discharged in December 1967.

Upon returning home, he worked for Clasters and remained there after they were purchased by YBC. He retired in a management position.

He is survived by his two sons, Eric Huggins, of Lock Haven, and Michael Huggins, of Elmira, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Ariel and Bo Huggins, both of Elmira, N.Y.; a brother, Kenneth Huggins, of Virginia; and a sister, Diane Thompson, of Julian.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, William Huggins; and a half-brother, Gerald Reed.

Richard was an active member of the 40&8 in Lock Haven and Jersey Shore, even working there as an accountant for a brief period.

He enjoyed a good game of Texas Hold-em, and playing and umpiring 35+ softball for many years.

Funeral and burial services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
