Willis E. Lucas, Jr., 91, of Mill Hall, Pa., passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at UPMC Haven Place.
Willis was born in Bellefonte, Pa., to parents, Willis E. and Annabelle (Baird) Lucas, Sr., on Nov. 6, 1933.
He graduated from Bellefonte High School in 1951. He served in the US Army for two years.
He worked for Piper Aircraft in Lock Haven for 18 years before the plant closed; was the owner/operator of Nittany Valley Feed and Hardware for 15 years and then retired from Penn State University in 1999.
He was a devoted husband and wonderful father and grandfather. He served as an elder and Sunday School teacher at the Flemington First Church of Christ for over 30 years.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Thelma (Brungard) Lucas; two daughters, Dawna (Denny) Mann, of Mackeyville, and Diane (John) Maggs, of Beech Creek; a son, David (Donna) Lucas, of Boalsburg; nine grandchildren, Jaime (Chipp) McCann, Amanda Maggs, John M. (Sarah) Maggs, Phillip (Alexandra) Mann, Mark (Jennifer) Maggs, Tosha (Tony) Fradillada, Ryan (Kate) Maggs, Sarah Lucas and Amber Lucas; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Lucas; and two grandsons, Jarod Maggs and Dustin Lucas.
A Memorial Service for Willis E. Lucas, Jr. will be held at the Flemington First Church of Christ, 714 Canal St., Mill Hall, Pa., on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 7 p.m., with Pastor Mark Riley of the church officiating.
Friends and family will be received in the church two hours prior to services.
The burial will take place at the Cedar Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Flemington First Church of Christ, 714 Canal St., Mill Hall, PA 17751.
