John A. Stevenson, Sr., 78, of Jersey Shore, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College.
Born July 28, 1946, in Jersey Shore, he was a son of the late Wilmer and Louise (Peluso) Stevenson.
John was married on March 22, 1964, to the former Barbara E. Embick, who died May 25, 2015. They were married 51 years.
He worked for AVCO in Williamsport.
John enjoyed hunting, and fishing and was a member of the NRA.
Surviving are three sons, John (Michele) Stevenson, Jr., Wilmer (Shelly) Stevenson and Daniel (Fawn) Stevenson, all of Jersey Shore; three daughters, Melanie Winters and Michelle Bechdel, both of Jersey Shore, and Melissa Geise, of Lock Haven; his spiritual wife, Pam Gower, 18 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Martha Ohl, of Walnutport.
Along with his parents and wife, John was preceded in death by a brother, Jim; and two sisters, Josephine Embick and Mary Embick.
A viewing for family and friends will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall.
Interment will be private at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.
