Betty A. (Wagner, Heltman) Derr

Betty went home to be with her Lord and Savior July 12, 2025, at the age of 92.

She was born in Loganton, Pa., on Aug. 17, 1932, to the late George Wagner and Ada Duck.

Betty worked as a housekeeper, cook and custodian.

She was loved by everyone who knew her. She loved Jesus, all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and dogs. She was a lot of fun to be around and was always laughing and joking around.

She enjoyed flower gardening, home canning, writing and traveling.

Betty was preceded in death by Chester Marcellus Heltman and Earl Derr; a son, Timothy Heltman; her brothers, Glen, Robert and Walter Wagner; and her sisters, June, Lois, Arnice and Gloria.

She is survived by a son, David (Carolyn); a daughter, Jolene (Mike); brothers, Gardner (Maxine), Elwood (Collete), Merle (Marilyn), Gene (Bonnie) and Daryl (Lucy); a sister, Sharon Winans; grandchildren, Eric (Kelly), Bradley (Becky), Ryan (Tabitha) and Michelle (Terry); and great-grandchildren, Emily, Ethan, Macy, Landon, Jonathan, Neoma and Jeremy.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Valley View Retirement Community — Memory Lane, who took great care of Betty over the last few years.

A viewing will be held Friday morning, July 18, 2025, from 10-11 a.m., with the funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., at Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall, with Pastor Brad Heltman and Pastor Mike Hulson officiating.

Burial will be private at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mill Hall.
