Ralph E. ‘Butch’ Bierly

Ralph E. “Butch” Bierly, 79, of Jersey Shore, passed away Friday, July 18, 2025, at UPMC Williamsport.

Born Oct. 5, 1945, in Jersey Shore, he was the son to the late Harold Bierly, Jr. and the former Elaine (Walter) Gower.

Butch honorably served his country in the United States Army where he earned a Purple Heart.

For many years, Butch worked at Jersey Shore Steel.

He enjoyed riding Harleys, fishing and hunting. He was a member of the American Legion in Jersey Shore.

Butch is survived by his daughters, Brenda A. Keefer (Shane Merrill) and Eva M. Bierly, both of Jersey Shore; his sisters, Barbara Schmouder, of Jersey Shore, and Ann Yearian, of Atlanta, Ga.; along with several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2025, in the Jersey Shore Cemetery.
