Richard C. ‘Rich’ Leach, Jr.

Richard C. “Rich” Leach, Jr., 74, of North Kingstown, R.I., passed away on July 19, 2025.

He was born to Richard C. and Pearl M. Leach and was raised in Woolrich, Pa. He graduated from Lock Haven University with a degree in Chemistry. Rich moved to Rhode Island in 1982.

He began his career at American Color and Chemical in Lock Haven and later spent over three decades with FujiFilm in Rhode Island, where he worked in electronic materials. He was a skilled chemist whose work took him to 44 states and several countries, including Japan, Germany, Switzerland and China.

After retiring, Rich continued to travel and took up wildlife photography, with some of his work shown locally in Rhode Island. He enjoyed visiting the Caribbean, parts of Europe and Canada, including a train trip across the country. He also followed the local music scene in the Providence area.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine (Lennon) Leach; his daughter, Stephanie D. Leach, of Alexandria, Va.; his sister, Jeanne Keith, and her husband, David, of Woolrich, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held in the Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home of Patrick Quinn Funerals and Cremations, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2025, from 2-4 p.m.
