Theresa R. Winters

Theresa R. Winters, 68, of Jersey Shore, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the Gatehouse.

Born Dec. 3, 1956, in West Chester, Pa., she was a daughter of the late George Herold and the former Mary Elizabeth Tracey.

For many years she worked at Woolrich and West Company before retiring from Manor Care in Jersey Shore.

Terry was known for her contagious smile and her happy nature. She had an extraordinary way of making every moment feel special, filling any occasion with love and laughter — without ever acknowledging the difference she made. Anyone blessed enough to have had her in their lives would agree she made their world a better place.

She is survived by her husband, Dean A. Winters; a son, Ethan L. (Rachel) Winters, of Lemoore, Calif.; a daughter, Miranda R. Winters, of Jersey Shore; brothers, Richard Herold, of Avis, and George (Denise) Herold, of Waynesboro; a sister, Kathy M. (James) Herlihy, of Richmond Hill, Ga.; and two grandchildren, Rylan and Emmett.

A visitation will be held at 12 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main St., Jersey Shore, followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m.

We imagine her now in heaven, in her happy place, sitting peacefully surrounded by trees and flowers, watching the birds and waiting to play games again with family and friends.

She will be tremendously missed by all who have shared love, laughter and special moments with her. Her impact on our lives will stay with us forever, and we will be reminded to choose joy over everything else.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks in memory of Terry to pass on a simple act of kindness.
