Bernard A. Swoyer

Bernard A. Swoyer, 93, of Jersey Shore, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born April 3, 1932, in Jersey Shore, he was a son to the late Albert Swoyer and the former Edith Anderson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Nan Ranck.

Bernard loved following Penn State wrestling and football, but his greatest love was spending time with his family.

He is survived by his children, Scott Swoyer and Lori (Tim) Greenaway, both of Jersey Shore; grandchildren, Dan Greenaway, of Jersey Shore, Brad (Elizabeth) Greenaway, of Cogan Station, Katie Greenaway, of State College, and Kari (Greg) Morisette, of Reston, Va.; and his great-grandchildren, Emma, Luke and Anna.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Bernie’s name be made to an animal shelter of your choice.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22, 2025, in the Jersey Shore Cemetery.
