Dorothy A. Reeder

Dorothy A. Reeder, 90, of Mill Hall, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2025, at Lock Haven Rehabilitation and Senior Living.

Born Oct. 8, 1934, in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Calvin E. and Virginia A. Egan Dershem.

On Nov. 29, 1953, in Mill Hall, she married John Robert “Bob” Reeder, who preceded her in death July 21, 2019.

Dorothy devoted her early life to her family, proudly raising her five daughters. She later worked as a Health Aid for the Clinton County Office of Aging until her retirement.

She was a member of the Salona United Church of Christ.

Dorothy enjoyed crocheting, reading and her flower gardens. Her biggest joy was her family, especially her daughters and beloved grandchildren.

She is survived by her five daughters, Deborah (Terry) Dickey, of Beech Creek, Deah (David) Bowes, of Blanchard, Christine (Bob) Thompson, also of Blanchard, Theresa (Mike) Kramer, of Loganton, and Jennifer (Milton) Schwab, of Virginia; a brother, James (Nancy) Dershem, of Farrandsville; a sister, Marian McKean, of Jersey Shore; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer E. and Calvin Dershem; two sisters, Joyce Bressler and Ruth Walk; and a great-grandson, Rory Schaefer.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025, at 11 a.m., at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, Pa., with Cindy Killinger officiating. Graveside services will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mill Hall.

Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Friday, Aug. 8, from 6 to 8 p.m., and again on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Salona Church of Christ or the Lamar Twp. Fire Company.
