Leroy H. Keiler, Jr.

Leroy H. Keiler, Jr., 92, formerly of Woolrich, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025, at Lock Haven Rehabilitation and Senior Living. He was born in Jersey Shore on Nov. 14, 1932, the only son of the late Leroy H. and Adda (Gamble) Keiler, Sr. Leroy graduated from Jersey Shore Area High School, class of 1950. He was a member of Woolrich Community United Methodist Church. Leroy worked as a teacher, beginning his career at Towanda Elementary School. From there, Leroy taught at Porter Township, Salladasburg and Nippenose Valley Elementary Schools. He retired from Jersey Shore Elementary where he continued to be a substitute teacher. Leroy was the equipment manager for all Jersey Shore Area School District sports programs as well as an announcer. He worked part-time at Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home for over 20 years and was member of the Jersey Shore Rotary Club, Jersey Shore Borough Council, Jaffa Shriners in Altoona and the Jersey Shore Masonic Lodge #232. He was very sociable and loved attending Penn State football games.

Leroy is survived by his son, Leroy H. Keiler, III (Melissa), of Lock Haven; and a grandson, James Keiler, of Lock Haven.

The funeral service for Leroy will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 29, 2025, at Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore with Pastor Bill Klebe officiating. Family and friends are invited to attend a public viewing from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.
