John ‘Jack’ Hastings

John “Jack” Hastings, 88, of Bellefonte, Pa., passed away on April 2, 2025, at Grand Strand Medical Center in South Carolina.

Born on March 20, 1937, to Lester and Eleanor Hastings, Jack grew up in Bellefonte alongside his brother, William. A proud graduate of Bellefonte Area High School’s Class of 1955, he went on to serve in the United States Air Force until 1959. Following his service, Jack returned home and built a long and successful career with C-Cor Electronics before retiring.

Jack is survived by his wife, Nancy Hastings; his children, Greg Hastings, Karin Hastings and Jessica Helsel; his grandsons, Stephen and Parker Helsel; and his brother, William Hastings, who passed away in August 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Eleanor Hastings.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jack’s life on Saturday, Oct. 4, at Faith Church, 512 Hughes St., Bellefonte, Pa. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m., with the Celebration of Life service at 2 p.m., followed by refreshments.

Jack will be remembered for his deep faith, quick wit and the unwavering love he shared with his family, friends and God. His warmth and humor touched everyone who knew him, and his legacy will live on in the lives he shaped.
