Navelda N. Henry

NAVELDA HENRY

Navelda N. Henry, 87, of Renovo, Pa., passed away Sept. 1, 2025, at Haven Place in Lock Haven, Pa.

She was born Oct. 2, 1937, in Dixonville, Pa., to the late Guy and Dorothy Uplinger (Miller).

Navelda was a waitress at Charlie’s Bar in Emporium, Pa., and worked as a bookkeeper at the old Fox’s Sunoco Gas Station in Renovo. She also worked as a volunteer at Bucktail Medical Center in Renovo for many years.

Navelda was an avid dancer, through which she met the love of her life and husband, Robert C. Henry. They married Sept. 30, 1961 in Emporium. He preceded her in death on Oct. 26, 2019.

Navelda enjoyed doing crossword puzzle books and watching her polka shows on TV. She also enjoyed playing Bingo.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty (Mark) Charcalla and Darlene Henry, both of Renovo; two sisters, Connie Cummings and Babe (Chauncey) Logue; and three grandchildren, Ruth Shinn and Mark and Michael Charcalla. She was also blessed with two great-grandsons, Ethan and Landon Charcalla, of Renovo, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Navelda was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Henry, on Jan. 23, 2019; and by three sisters, Ethel Polnick, and Brenda and Debbie Kay Uplinger.

A Memorial Service for Navelda N. Henry will be held on Monday, Sept. 8, 2025, at 12 p.m., in the Renovo Fire Department, 230 11th St., Renovo, Pa., with Lay Speaker Martha Sykes officiating.

Friends and family will be received in the fire hall one hour prior to services.

Burial will take place at the Fairview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Navelda’s name may be made to the Clinton County SPCA, 33 Mill Hill Road, Lock Haven, PA 17745.

Services are under the direction of the Gedon Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, LLC, 320 Main St., Mill Hall, Pa.
