DANNIE COMLY
Dannie K. Comly, 72, of Yarnell, passed away at home on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2025, surrounded by his family while watching his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys.
Born on March 8, 1953, in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late Charles Comly, Sr. and Helen (Spotts) Comly. On April 29, 1972, he married his lifetime sweetheart, Rita (Burns) Comly, who survives at home after sharing 53 years of marriage together.
Dannie was a 1971 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School. He worked as a miner and a mechanic who could fix everything and proudly passed that talent onto his sons!
In addition to his wife, Rita, he is survived by his children, Robyn Dyke (Donnie), of Milesburg, Bradley Comly (Kerri) ,of Howard, and Erik Comly (Jamie), of Yarnell; and seven grandchildren, Moreta Dyke (Dakota Bartley), Dale Walker (Jonathan), Tessa Comly, Brayden Comly, Macey Hahn, Jalyn Hahn and Aaron Varner. Also surviving are his siblings, Janet Rice (Don), of California, Barry (Marg), of Dix Run, Gene, of Bush Hollow, Nancy Wenrick (Bob), of Tennessee, Patricia Miller, of Lamar, Linda Carlson, of Howard, and Barb, of Pocono.
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Charles “Sonny,” Jack “Buzz”; and a sister Joanne.
Dannie enjoyed tinkering around in the garage; throughout the years he fixed anything and everything for his family and friends. He also enjoyed being outside, whether he was cutting trees, hunting, gardening or just soaking in the sun. He loved his cats, working out and watching his grandchildren play ball. Dannie was also proud of the fact that he built his own house. More than anything, he loved the time that he spent with his grandchildren.
A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2025, from 5-7 p.m., at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 135 W. Main St., Howard.
