SWEITZER — Lt. Col. Merrill A. Sweitzer, Jr., 90, of Salladasburg, died Oct. 5, 2025. Graveside services will be held today at 11 a.m. at the Oval Cemetery, 6743 PA-44, Jersey Shore, Pa., with full military honors conducted by the Jersey Shore Honor Guard. A Celebration of Merrill’s Life will take place immediately afterward at the Family Homestead from 12-4 p.m.
McCLUSCIK — Anthony S. McCluscik, 70, of Snow Shoe, died Sept. 9, 2025. Visitation will be held today from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Snow Shoe. A funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Snow Shoe.
COSTAGLIOLA — Tina Costagliola, 64, of Lock Haven, died Sept. 19, 2025. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, Oct. 12, from 1-4 p.m., at the Yost Center, 180 Bennage Ave., Lock Haven, Pa. Lunch will be served. HERSHBERGER — Martha J. Hershberger, 91, of Flemington, died Oct. 8, 2025. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, Oct. 12, at 2 p.m., at the Gedon Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, LLC, 320 Main St., Mill Hall, Pa. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be private at the family’s convenience.
HAYES — Daniel Hayes, 77, of Lock Haven, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2025. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, Oct. 18, at 11 a.m., at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 3 E. Walnut St., Lock Haven, with a luncheon immediately following.
SMITH — Gerald Hosterman Smith, formerly of Aaronsburg, died Sept. 3, 2025, at The Oaks in Pleasant Gap, Pa. A Celebration of Life will be held at The Oaks in Pleasant Gap, 200 Rachel Drive, on Sunday, Oct. 19, at 2:30 p.m. Gerald will be laid to rest in a private ceremony with military honors in Fairview Cemetery in Millheim.
NOVOSEL — Lois Novosel died on Feb. 22, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held in the fall with inurnment at Jacksonville Cemetery, rural Howard, Pa.
HARRIS — Mary E. Harris, 85, died July 21, 2025. Services are being planned and will be announced at a later date by Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home in Jersey Shore.
